Plastic-free Refill Stations are coming soon to Unilodge!

Today, there is over 8 billion tonnes of plastic waste in our planet, and this number is growing. Yes, that plastic fork you used at last summer’s BBQ is still floating around in a local landfill. Experts say if we don’t change, there will be more plastic than fish in our oceans by 2050.

Join us in saying NO to more plastic waste by refilling your bottles at an Unpackaged Eco refill station, coming soon on 4th October 2021 to Unilodge residences later this year.

How will these stations work?

These refill stations will work like a series of small vending machines located in the common area downstairs, where you will be able to fill up your own bottle to any desired amount and only pay for what you fill. You will need to bring your own bottle to refill at the station.

What sort of items will I be able to refill?

You will be able to top up on an entire range of eco friendly, Australian made household products, such as Laundry Liquid, Dish Liquid, Handwash, Hand Sanitiser, All Purpose Cleaner, Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash. Is there an item missing in this list? Please let the team know at support@unpackaged.eco.

How does this compare to buying refills at the supermarket?

Refills in the supermarket typically come in plastic sachets or bottles. Plastic sachets are typically made of different layers of plastic and not recyclable. Plastic bottles are recyclable, however we have only ever recycled 9% of all plastic produced, so there is a good chance your bottle will still end up in landfills or oceans.

Why is refilling good for the planet?

Every bottle refilled is a bottle you know you have saved from landfill and oceans. Refilling your bottle not only cuts down on plastic waste and lowers your carbon footprint, you are also saving money by not paying for packaging. What’s more, Unpackaged Eco products are all made from plant-based, biodegradable, non-toxic chemicals that are good for your home and the planet.
